Wella Hair Color
Wella Hair Colour is fantastic as you can just pick up a box of the hair colour from anywhere. I buy mine at the supermarket or the pharmacy and it’s just so much easier than going to the salon. If you are planning a trip to a salon for a hair colour then you can expect to be there for at least three hours depending on the length of your hair. You then have to book an appointment and see if they can fit you in for the time you would like. With a Wella Hair Colour you can just literally decide that you would like to change the colour of your hair and just pop down to your local shops and purchase a colour immediately. The beauty of the Wella Hair Colour is that you can choose from any shade of any colour. You can choose from lightest ash blonde, light blonde, dark blonde, honey blonde, very light brown, light brown, dark brown, light chestnut brown, dark chestnut brown, chestnut, red, strawberry blonde, fire red and black. I think I once even saw a plum or a purple colour or though why anyone would choose to purposely dye their hair such a garish colour is beyond me.
I remember as a teenager how I used to dye my hair every week much to my Mother’s disgust. I could never quite master the blondes as well as the darker shades as with a full head colour blonde it would never look very natural. I remember crying terribly when changing my hair from its natural light brown to what was meant to be a beautiful light ash blonde and I ended up looking like Cindy Lauper after my hair was an awful rusty orange colour. Personally for any type of blonde if you are wanting to change your hair to a lighter colour then you really must go to a professional salon where they can mix the correct amount of ammonia and peroxide to suit your hair but also as a salon carries toners which will take off the brassy effect of a bad blonde result.
With the darker colours I would recommend the Wella Hair Colour as this is a much easier result to achieve whilst in the confines of your own home. A word of warning though the darker colours will stain absolutely everything in your bathroom and will ruin your towels. These stains are awful to get out of ceramic bathrooms and tiles but can be done using a lot off bathroom cleaner; your towels however will be in a state of ruin for evermore. I remember my Mother going absolutely crazy when I used her best Marks and Spencer towels when trying to achieve a chestnut red colour and I was immediately grounded for the rest of the week. Needless to say it was not worth the punishment as I had to endure walking around looking like the colour of our garden shed for at least two weeks before the colour faded.
This is another downside to the Wella Hair Colour is that it fades extremely fast and your towels are at risk each and every time you wash your hair after colouring.
Wella Hair Colour is also now selling a new streaking kit which means that you can now apply your own highlights or lowlights with a clever little tool that they add to the box. This I would say would be a great time to have a friend help you. You can never see the back of your own head and to avoid a terrible result by not distributing the colour in the right places or spaced out correctly you could end up with a disaster! It’s best if a friend pins your hair up and takes section by section to ensure the correct amount is applied to the hair. This is slightly more expensive but when you compare this to an average salon’s costs you will be paying only an 8th of the cost. However there have been many a time when I have spent this 8th of a cost and still ended up at the salon to correct my own handy work.
For teenagers that are easily bored and would like a change I would highly recommend using the Wella Hair Colour products as they are easy to use and very, very cheap. This way they can keep themselves amused and looking different from week to week; even though it may well drive their parents crazy. I think that once you are of a certain age and are earning a regular income a salon will always be the best solution and give the overall best result. It may come at a cost but then I don’t think an employer would be best pleased to see their members of staff arrive to work one day with bright orange hair!
